Master & Dynamic reissue their iconic MH40 headphones… this time without wires

We’ve said it time and again, we love Master & Dynamic headphones. The company burst on to the scene around the same time we did, 2013. Since then, they’ve had a string of amazing products and have even jumped into the true-wireless market. Now, the company is reissuing its iconic MH40 over-ear headphones but this time without the wires.

The new MH40 wireless headphones stay true to the company’s first headphone design keeping the same vintage aviator-inspired aesthetic along with the amazing sound.

The MH40 was the first product we designed at Master & Dynamic and I remember that moment in the brand’s history very well. That iconic pair of headphones became the backbone of our product DNA and has influenced every product to come after it.

With the MH40 Wireless, we wanted to celebrate five years of Master & Dynamic’s core philosophy— the convergence of design, craftsmanship and technology.

The new wireless model will feature Bluetooth 5.0 with a 100ft/30m connectivity range. The MH40 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones will also feature coated canvas with lambskin leather details, hold up to 18 hours of battery life and charge to 50% in 30 minutes.

Since the company’s founding, travel has been a significant part of the brand’s DNA. The original wired MH40 has often been a travel companion for customers in the past, whether to new destinations or on their daily commutes. Each pair of the original MH40 headphones feature coordinates of Grand Central Station, the iconic New York City landmark, etched under the left ear pad.

To celebrate Master & Dynamic’s five-year anniversary, the new MH40 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones take it global. Each pair features the coordinates of one of ten cultural hotspots from around the world on the outer earcup. Each location is not only beaming with musical, artistic and cultural inspiration but also has meaning to the brand and its founders.

“Jonathan, myself and our children are passionate about travel: the places we discover and of course, the headphones we bring along. With the Coordinates blog series, our goal is to capture and share with readers the joy in travel and build excitement and anticipation for every trip,” said Master & Dynamic Co-Founder Vicki Gross.

The MH40 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones are available in Gunmetal / Black Coated Canvas & Lambskin, Black Metal / Black Coated Canvas & Lambskin and Silver Metal / Brown Coated Canvas & Lambskin for $299 on the company’s website.
