iClever Himbox HB01 Review: Add Bluetooth To Your Car

|
,

Many new cars these days have either Bluetooth capability or some sort of infotainment system that can interface with your smartphone. Not all of us can afford a brand new car but a lot of us want to be able to wirelessly use our phones through our existing radio systems. This is where iClever’s Himbox HB01 comes in. Using the AUX jack on your car’s radio system, it turns your radio into a Bluetooth receiver, yes we know even older cars don’t all have AUX jacks, but more have AUX jacks than Bluetooth. This is our iClever HimBox HB01 review.

Design

A simple hockey puck design with forward, back and pairing buttons, the iClever Himbox HB01 is pretty plain and simple. The power end plugs into your car’s cigarette lighter and has three USB ports, two 2.4A ports (good for tablets and large smartphones) and one port for the HB01 power. The materials used are of super high quality and this thing just looks very well made. The cable is nice and long as well so you can reach even the furthest AUX and power ports in your car. Overall the design and materials of the HB01 are top notch and really well done.

Ease of Use

Using the HB01 is as simple as plugging it in to your car, turning your phone’s Bluetooth on, finding the HB01 in the Bluetooth list, and pairing. Pretty simple and every time you get in your car and turn the power on, the phone automatically connects. If you need to pair a new phone simply push the pairing button in and wait a few seconds, release, and look for the HB01 in the new phone’s Bluetooth settings. There’s really nothing to it, very simple and easy to use.

Performance

The HB01 has support for Apt-X technology which provides high quality wireless sound transmission with zero delay time, echo and noise cancellation, offering crisp, clear sound quality. The HB01 also supports Siri and Google Now functionality and it has convenient forward and back buttons to skip and repeat tracks so you don’t have to touch your phone. Bluetooth connectivity is solid and I never dropped signal once while using the HB01. My device was always in the car but I’m sure you could step away with the device and still have connection. Overall the performance was great and I especially love the auto connect when powering the car on.

Price/Value

Priced at $39.99 this is a huge value and much cheaper than buying a new car. It adds Bluetooth to the car without any hassles, it’s built really well, and it performs without any issues.

Wrap Up

One of the better Bluetooth car adapters I’ve used and well worth the money.
