HTC has begun the countdown to their next big announcement, the HTC One (M8). The official countdown and live streaming site is now up and running with a little over 4 days left on the clock. There’s quiet a few people looking forward to the announcement and unveiling of HTC’s successor to the wildly popular One. A few days ago fans and the whole world got a eyeful of the new HTC flagship phone via a posted YouTube video, check that out after the break.
As you can see from the video the new HTC flagship looks stunning even in a non-produced shaky YouTube video. We’re excited to see the real production handset in four days. One of the more exciting features of the new One is the rumored inclusion of a microSD slot. There’s some debate in Android circles as to the usefulness of a microSD slot but there was quiet the uproar when HTC left it off the first One. Adding the microSD slot to the new phone is sure to make some Samsung owners take another look.
The body of the phone is what excites me. It appears to be aluminum construction just like it’s predecessor but the finish seems to be just slightly different as well as the color. From the video and leaked photos I’m willing to bet this new One is leaps and bounds better built than the first One. And the first One was awesome as it was. It’s no secret that HTC has been struggling, even with the amount of accolades the first One got their sales have been flat. Let’s hope HTC marketing strategy is better this go around and let’s hope the newest iteration finally brings some long deserved good news to HTC and let’s hope HTC can capitalize on it.
