Selfies have overtaken modern day society, one only has to look to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media website. It looks like selfies have started invading the digital world as well as Blizzard’s MMORPG World of Warcraft has introduced the ability to take a WoW selfie of your character.
What’s more, if plain old selfies aren’t your thing, a follow up mission rewards you with a S.E.L.F.I.E. Lens Upgrade Kit allowing you to upgrade your camera to a MkII (nice nod to Canon) and allows you to apply one of three filters to your selfie for that personal touch. The interface for the camera is really easy to use — simply click the item to use it, and your camera will automatically turn around to face you. You can swivel the angle to whatever you feel is most pleasing, and press 1 to snap a photo. No need to alt-z the frame out of the picture first, the camera automatically does it for you, snapping the screenshot and putting it in your screenshots folder. As the camera faces your character, they’ll make a host of suitably emotive faces, so you don’t have to worry about smiling for the camera.
And there you have it, no more need to AFK from your quest or raid to take a real life selfie when you can snap a quick one in game anytime you feel the urge. Because you know, the world could use a little more duckface… now where’d I put that 30 day WoW card!?!
I can’t help but think of this video (viewers note, couple t-shirts with bad words but no explicit lyrics) every time I see a selfie online, maybe a WoW version is in the works?
