The upcoming Ghostbusters remake has already faced its fair share of criticism — warranted or not. Earlier this month, it was announced that Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott would be performing a new version of Ray Parker Jr.’s Ghostbusters theme for the female-led reboot.

The new track was released today, and definitely has a more upbeat, rock/hip-hop vibe to it, while sticking to most of the original lyrics. Without further ado, here’s the new version of the Ghostbusters theme song by Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliot.
For the sake of jogging your memory (and in my case trying to clear what I just listened to out of my head), here’s the original Ray Parker Jr. version:
The updated theme song will of course be featured on the Ghostbusters soundtrack, which will be released the same day as the movie hits theatres. The soundtrack will also include songs by Elle King, G-Eazy featuring Jeremih, 5 Seconds of Summer, Pentatonix, Walk the Moon, Wolf Alice, and more. Check out the Elle King track below:
Ghostbusters stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon and opens in theatres on July 15th.
