Ah the internet, the world wide web, the flashing box plugged into the phone that is an outlet to the world. Not only does it supply us with endless cat videos and Facebook stalkers, it provides a retail channel that has changed business for good. You can buy anything with a few clicks; less if you’re on Amazon. However, people are no longer clicking the mouse, they are tapping the screen.
Business Insider is reporting this morning that online hotel and flight reservation giant, Priceline, is buying another online reservation maker, OpenTable. Both companies are customer service oriented creating a space on the web for users to make hotel, flight and restaurant reservations, often at discounts or with perks.
