Snapchat Spectacles are probably one of the least intriguing pieces of tech to emerge on the market to date. While I’m sure the market is there and the users who want them will buy them, it’s just not something I’m wowed over. Now that Snapchat Spectacles are available to all there is bound to be other companies making their way out to take a piece of the pie. DigiOptix is one of those companies and they’re crowdfunding their bone conduction camera glasses on Kickstarter now.
The company is trying to get their combination bone conduction and camera glasses into the market through Kickstarter. The challenge here is, will enough of you care to have bone conduction glasses with a camera attached. DigiOptix points out all of their features in their Kickstarter and it seems they do have a few more things than the Snapchat Spectacles. Here’s a rundown of what you’ll get if you choose to back this project.
- Listen to music via Bluetooth
- Take photos and video with built-in camera
- Listen to GPS navigation
- Answer phone calls
- Bone conduction allows for open-ear
- USB port
- Multiple frame colors as well as lens colors
Right now I’m not convinced that Snapchat Spectacles aren’t a fad and that other like products are in the same boat. The DigiOptix bone conduction camera glasses might be a great tech gadget for some and you can hit the link below to support their Kickstarter if you’re that person. The lowest Kickstarter pledge to get into a pair of these is $100USD so they’re not cheap by any means. Who knows, they may take off?
