Israeli security startup, SlickLogin had been scooped up by Google in what seems like a field day of acquisition (s) for the search giant. SlickLogin has developed technology using your smartphone and high-frequency sounds to allow you to login to web services such as email and social sites. Google grabbed these guys fairly quickly into their journey so they must have something worth looking at. Founders Or Zelig, Eran Galili and Ori Kabeli began this project last August 2013, an infant company and idea indeed.

The boys and girls over at 9to5 Mac have got their mitts on some alleged pics of the iPhone 6. Now take it with a grain of salt and don’t get too over the top with rumors. We really don’t know what the new iPhone will look like or have inside of it. But judging by these pics, the rumored “larger” screen looks to be happing. Also there is an almost edge to edge display, from the looks of it.

An interesting Crowd-funding campaign just came across the Techaeris desks in the form of Fin, a Bluetooth-enabled thumb ring that turns you into a remote control. Fin’s sensors are said to be able to distinguish between points to any segment of your fingers, making your entire hand into a numeric keypad, or gesture control system.

The DailyMail is reporting that Virgin Atlantic is running some trials using Google Glass. The idea is to know the customer before they even hand over their boarding pass. The host/hostess will already have all your details using Glass, name, destination and even dietary information. The trial begins at the Virgin Atlantic Upper Class lounge at London Heathrow.

As an HTC One owner (carrier locked) who has recently upgraded to KitKat, I was very upset to learn that I could not get the Nexus 5 lock screen on my device without rooting it (yes I thought this update was the holy grail and would turn my phone into some super-human device that looked exactly like a vanilla Android device, yeah I spazzed all the way out). So for about two days straight I scoured the Play Store for lock screen alternatives that would mimic the Nexus 5 until I finally came across SlideLock. SlideLock is a lock screen notifier replacement by Silver Finger Software who some of you may know from NotifierPro and coordinating themes in the Play store.

During Media Day at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, I had an opportunity to speak with David McCreadie of Ford regarding their C-Max Solar Energi concept vehicle. Mr. McCreadie is part of Ford’s Hybrid and Electric Vehicles group, and he advised that this concept has been in development for the last year in cooperation with the Georgia Institute of Technology. There were several uniquely designed vehicles at The Chicago Auto Show one of which was the Honda FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle). I fell in love with the sleek front end and the sweeping sides, although I have to say it will take me a bit to get used to the rear end. 9to5 Mac is reporting via Macotakara that Apple has or may be reducing the fees and minimum quantities purchased on MFi (Made For iPod, iPhone, iPad) licenses for third party accessory makers. This would certainly not only be welcome for the manufactures but consumers as well. Assuming manufacturers will pass the savings along. For those of you not in the know. Apple began its MFi program back in 2005 with the iPod.
