Samsung Electro-Mechanics has formed a partnership with PowerbyProxi to further research and develop of wireless charging and wireless power solutions for consumer electronics and home appliances. PowerbyProxi has also received $4 million in funding from Samsung Ventures Investment Corporation.
Delta announced they are giving all of their 11,000 pilots a Microsoft Surface 2 tablet. The initial plan is to replace the pilots paper based flight kits where they keep their navigation charts and operations manuals.
Good Deeds Wireless has just been announced. Good Deeds will donate 50% of its profits directly to the charities they work with. Some rather interesting news over the weekend, Canon, Samsung, HP and Xerox have formed the Mopria Alliance a global non-profit membership organization formed to promote, simplify and increase accessibility of wireless printing from smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. Canon’s press release said the following about this alliance.
Looks like Kia is going to make a run at the luxury market by introducing the Kia Quoris in 2014. The Quoris has only been available in Korea and the Middle East where it goes by the name K9. The exact specifications of the Quoris have not been released but it is aiming for the luxury slot so we would expect it to have quiet a few high end features.

Sherwin-Williams becomes the first major consumer brand to launch a Google Glass Application. The application was developed by Resource, one of the largest independent marketing agencies in the country. The app is available for download to your Google Glass but is still in beta and will likely have a few bugs and issues that will need to be ironed out.
PengPod has announced their Indiegogo campaign for their proposed PengPod 1040 dual boot tablet. They are talking about a 9.7″ ultra high resolution tablet that will run Android and Linaro OS (a linux distro). PengPod is pitching this as an all in one solution to mobile and desktop needs.
Sony Pictures Angry Birds movie is due out sometime in July 2016 in the meantime they have secured world wide Blu-ray and DVD rights to Rovio’s Angry Birds Toons series. The series has a total of 52 episodes and centers around the story created by Rovio in their Angry Birds mobile game.
I remember getting my first smartphone that used real and true mobile applications, the iPhone 3G. It didn’t take me long to find the jailbreak community and start modifying my phone to whatever extent I could. It was a fun time. True smartphone apps were in their infancy, but growing and maturing fast. It was also a time that my naivete was ripe. I really had no clue what it takes to develop mobile apps (or any application for that matter).

Rogers Communications and Sprint announced a partnership that will allow Sprint to bring in-car “infotainment”, as they refer to it, and telematics to Canadian drivers. The agreement allows auto makers using Sprint Velocity in Canada to use the Rogers wireless network to connect vehicles on the road.
Xbox announced today their Xbox Fitness online service which takes popular fitness videos and makes them interactive for the Xbox One. The collection of videos will include Beachbody’s P90X (Tony Horton) and INSANITY (Shaun T), Jillian Michaels, Tracy Anderson and others, this will be free for Xbox Live Gold Members through December 2014.
Windows Phone is pushing forward with new apps gaining the Adidas miCoach app today. miCoach is a personal training app and integrates with Nokia phones, Nokia Music and HERE maps. Microsoft released this blurb about the Adidas app.
Ford has purchased software development startup company Livio to further enhance the smartphone integration in their line of vehicles. With Livio’s in-car electronic integration know how, Ford is hoping to stay ahead of the curve in the connectivity arena.

I am a racing fan. No doubt about it. While I probably can not name drivers in the different series of racing, I love to watch racing. F1, Nascar, Indy, Motocross you name it. If it has wheels and an engine, most likely I will watch it. So I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find Infiniti showing us how an F1 race car is made.
